It's been 17 days since I moved to Seattle to start a new era of my academic career and personal adventures. Today was one of the first days that I started to feel some sense of routine and comfort in my new environment.
I went on a run at a nearby park to me and I didn't have to look at my google maps to get back to my apartment. I now know the exact turnaround point in the park for a 3 mile run. I know the (literal) uphill battle it'll be towards the ends of those three miles as I approach my apartment. This morning I made myself what I'll call an adult breakfast/brunch, did my laundry, and some basic house cleaning around our apartment. Here it is!
Here are some things I want to write about:
- Everywhere you look there is green
- Looking at your phone constantly to refresh google maps is not fun
- Missing on my bus stop on my way home (but recognizing I was in the wrong place!)
- Looking for the EE building even though it was right next to Sieg
- Orientation
- Missing WW and an organized welcome
- Connecting to the printer
- Sunflowers in 424
- Week 1 of classes
- Balancing research #1, research #2, classes 4, exploring
- Reflection conference
- 3 take-aways big
- New community asking about how my family is doing in Mexico
- Whirlwind 48 hours with family and setting up apartment
- First hard weekend & OITB
- Dogs everywhere
- Running
- Feel like I'm breathing such fresh air
- Want to run a marathon just to run
- Very impressed & satisfied by the bus system
- Where do you buy groceries??
