Tinkering in the After-School Setting

PI: Shirin Vossoughi

In this study we seek to understand equitable pedagogical practices in tinkering settings.

This research focuses on the nature of tinkering settings and teaching and learning in the after-school settings, particularly in collaboration with a low-income urban community in San Francisco.

I contribute an engineering perspective while learning more about conducting ethnographies, coding themes and developing findings in the learning sciences using a methodological dimension of the project.

As I transcribe and code interviews of facilitator debriefs, I seek to understand the buds of development occuring in the shifts of identity that the participants and mentors experience over time.
